GEORGE Leah Fry Leah Esther Stevens Fry, 93, died Monday at the St. George Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 15, 1901 in Green Forest, Ark. to James Campbell and Pernella Esther Shibley Stevens. She married Os Berry Fry on August 28, 1919 in Green Forest, Ark.

He died in January of 1980. Survivors include her son, George B. Fry, St. George. She was preceded in death by a son, William Rex Fry.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Spilsbury Desert Rose Memorial Chapel, 58 N. 100 East, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday local time, at the Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, under the direction of the Spilsbury Desert Rose Mortuary.

The water flows up along the fault. and is directed to Pah Tempe's grotto by an impermeable layer of rock.

Anderson said that layer was pierced in two places by water district crews while burying a 66-inch pipeline in 1984-85. The hot springs dried up. until the district patched the two places where the pipeline was buried under the river. Anderson said the springs were OK at first. but then pressure in the springs slowly dropped until the September 1992 earthquake.

Within days. the spring's flows had dropped to less than 100 gallons per minute and remain that way now. Wayne Wilson. former chairman of the Washington County Water Conservation Board. said the spring ran as good as it did before the pipe was laid and the 1992 earthquake is the real culprit.

"It just hasn't worked as good ever since then." he said. Anderson said he will make arrangements for anyone who is interested to get a tour of the property. "I plan to have an open house once a month until this is resolved." he said. Gena and Aaron Jones, St. George, girl.

Interment in St. George City Cemetery. FIRE CALLS IRON COUNTY Cedar County firefighters had a very quiet weekend, responding to just one fire call. Crews responded to a vehicle fire at 11:13 a.m. Sunday after a Jeep owned by Leroy Herdt caught fire near the county landfill due to an electrical short and was ruled a total loss.
