Even if you are not a cheese lover, you should try it out. I loved the cheese platter.I ordered a cookie (attached in this review) and it was good.Coffee wasn’t great but ambience and friendly staff compensates it.The place has ample of parking.

A lovely experience. We got the ploughmans platter and a beer paddle. It was delicious cheese with a few condiments and smoked wallaby. The ONO was the nicest cheese in my opinion.

The 4 standard beers on tap tastes great and if the limited releases like the whey stout can be put on tap, that would be perfect.The food menu is just cheese platters and toasties, understandable for a cheese place. Put on some cheese pizzas, loaded cheese fries or just plain fries, which is essential when having a beer or 10!Great service and very friendly staffs.

Go here!Bruny has a lot to offer and a LOT to do, but it's worth making the time to kick back here. It is a brilliant setting with lots of seating options, is dog friendly, and a great place to chill out for 5 mins or 5 hours.The cheese tasting plates are to die for, the coffee is good and the alcohol options endless. Delicious Baked Otto wrapped in Prosciutto with wood-oven baked sourdough & onion pickle. I could have shared it with someone, it was so filling!Fabulous brewed chai in a teapot.It’s worth taste-testing the cheeses in the shop. We enjoyed the Tom cheese the most! Their pickles are so yummy and fresh. I wish they served coffee and tea there.

Meals are only cheese items but they are tasty. The place was very busy and they were short staffed but we managed to have a decent tasting and meal. The beer tasting paddle is good value. Sourdough would have been better if it was toasted and it would be great if they sold crackers in the store.

Lovely start to a day trip on Bruny Island. The beer paddle was delicious and nicely chilled for a sunny morning. Whey stout was fantastic. There was a lovely French young lady who had a nice smile and good service.Unfortunately when we first entered, we weren't well received by another lady up the front. We greeted her and kindly asked if we could sample some cheeses but she clearly wasn't very keen to attend to us. She said she needed 5 minutes and she was busy. So we went to get the beer paddle instead. When we were looking for a seat, to our surprise, the same "busy" lady was now attending to a new, larger group of 4.Nonetheless, great atmosphere and lovely beers.

Like most of the other reviews, the sourdough… oh my goodness, was amazing. It was almost enough to make the trip just for the bread!We tried the three cheese platter, which contained an ample sized selection of cheese, and condiments. The outdoor area was perfect for a more rustic feel and many customers were complimenting the beer selection.The staff behind the counter did not know much about the wine on offer, however the establishment is more known for beer, cheese and bread so they could be excused for not knowing much about the wine on offer… maybe.

The service was great & staff were very friendly.I originally fell in love with Bruny Island cheese at the annual Mould festival I attend each year & finally made it over to Bruny Island to experience the true taste in its home town.

Great little stop off on the island... Nice to taste their cheese with a little tasting platter and sit outside to enjoy.We also tried the cherry cider, which was def not our taste.The toastie was really nice, but coffee was a bit hit and miss, my friend enjoyed hers, whilst mine was so bad I couldn't drink it.

My goodness. THIS is how to do good food. We had the Ploughman's Platter, paired with a dark pale ale and a 'Farmers Ale' respectively. There wasn't a single thing on the plate that wasn't delicious... from the washed rind '1972' cheese and house-made chilli chutney to the gently smoked trout and the roasted wallaby. The garden setting was delightful, as was the smiling customer service. Simply outstanding.

Driving down from the ferry, the landscape is a gorgeous potpourri of hues green and gold. Can it get any more Australiana? The Cheese company is only a 15 minute drive and we arrived at noon. Time for a cold beer and cheese tasting. Since I am a Dutchmen by birth, cheese is in my blood and genes. We found some very tasty and delicious cheeses on offer. Our favourite is the P2. The service was good, just the cheese platter portion was a little small. Will be a nice outing when the weather is good, however won’t recommend for a windy / cold weather as all the seatings were outside and no heating. The cheeses were ok, nothing too special. Tasmania is beautiful and Bruny Island is a cherry on the top. As we get off the ferry and ride towards the nose, we wouldn’t miss this cheese company offering free cheese tastings of their delicious cheese. There are different types of cheeses with unique flavour. Was hard to decide which ones to buy. Be sure to get the wood fire baked bread to have with the cheese. 101% recommend!!

After doing my whole lap of Australia, spending 2 years in hospitality, Bruny Island Cheese and Beer company is still the best company where I have been, where I lived, and ate.As a worker, as a customer, as a friend.It's very hard to remember all this without any tears falling down my face, a product made with heart and soul.The craft and the attention to make something local and unique is impossible to find somewhere else.Every workers is happy to be there, every customer feels welcomed and treated well.I still remember "Otto" and "The Saint" with their delicious taste and softness, and are still the same products that I order sometimes at home for myself and my friends to share.Wish you all the best, forever.

Interesting variety of beers and cheeses .I had the platter with wallaby. It was delightful. Staff were friendly and adorable .The sparkling wine is very unusual . I was unsure at first but grew to really love it !

Lots of parking space. Lots of seating as well. We got the free tasting and bought some expensive cheese back with us. The crackers were good too. Lots of people coming in and out when we were there so best to come in between groups to try the cheese!

Cheese platterFarm ale😊 Fresh tap beer, fresh cheese, and fresh atmosphere, what else? Especially liked the 'Raw tom' which had smoky flavor. Therefore wasn't able to resist buying one to bring it home. And I didn't expected sourdough to be this good so was deeply impressed. Also pickles were perfect match for the cheese. Possibly the best pacific oysters we’ve had in our lives! Freshly shucked and reasonably priced. We had a dozen each and wanted more. The bread crumbed version was awesome too! The trio sauce goes well with the oysters and try the Bloody Mary oyster shots! Heaps of free parking on site. There’s also a drive thru option if you don’t want to eat there.

We visited for the pun and we stayed for the deliciousness of fresh oysters that only Tassie can provide. We got the mixed platter of 12 oysters between 4 of us but could have easily had 1 platter each. They were devoured in no time.

Pleasantly surprised! That's how I would describe this place. We were holidaying in Tasmania and decided to visit Bruny Island. The first thing on our bucket list to do was Get Shucked. Had the most amazing and freshest oysters of my life. We had the mixed plate of 12 cooked oysters and half dozen of the fresh ones and they were both fabulous. Definitely want to visit again.

Freshest oysters we have ever tasted. We just slurped in the taste of the ocean. Oysters were properly cleaned and we totally enjoyed them. Must eat when you're in Bruny island. Fun fact: the oysters were imported from Japan back in 1980s.

What a fabulous place this is. First time on the Island and we had been recommended this eatery. We were not disappointed.First class service with some good banter, back and forth, with Kenny - the new owner. Oysters were lovely and the UK IPA was excellent. Rest of my gang went for white wine and are now looking to track down the vineyard, it was so good.So, in conclusion, a great place to drop into, friendly, clean, tasty and a bit different to other food outlets. It is a nice restaurant if you want to taste fresh and pure oysters in Tasmania. The place is near the sea and road, it is easy to find it by car, and it is clean, tidy and beautiful. Besides the fresh oysters, you can taste the panko and cooked oysters also.

Super fresh and natural sea flavored oyster, it’s a place MUST stop by when you at bruny island. But be aware they do close the gate when it has reached out covid capacity, they are not closed, you just have to come back later!

Lovely place and friendly staff. We have been here several times and still surprised by how amazing the oyster can be! We love both the mixed ones and natural with dressing, plus a bowl of fries and beer can definitely make a good day.

Was not disappointed with the oyster quality, as they are wonderful. The raw oysters are fatty, and they get shucked live so that you can watch the whole process. There are also kilkpatrick and crumbled oysters which are also quite tasty. Pricing is quite decent at 26-30 for a dozen.Raw oysters can be served right after ordering, but cooked ones takes at least 20 minutes as they only cook after order, so be prepared to wait!At peak times you line up at both the counter and … the toilet!

This is a must do when on Bruny Island! Opening hours are 10-4. The set up is good and allows groups to sit, enjoy the atmosphere and have a glass of wine or cidar. It also has a fabulous take away drive through section which we took full advantage of and avoided the queues lining up! The service was friendly, fast and made for an easy and enjoyable overall experience. The price of oysters is extremely reasonable, half the price of Hobart, and the taste much fresher and delicious! Highly recommend this stop for either a sit down experience or a take away delight!

A return visit to my favourite oyster place in Tasmania.These guys do a great job with their oysters. The fresh natural oysters are the best option in our opinion and they are creamy, fresh and clean tasting.However, the mixed tasting plate with Kilpatrick and crumbed fried options are also fantastic. Perfect pairing with some good quality white.They do get a lot of tourist visitors so going early to mid morning would be recommended.

There was very limited seating. The oysters were freshly shucked next to the counter which you can watch. Water is self service. The tables are sticky cause the amount of people coming in and out was just non stop. There were a few options on the menu, you pay at the counter and the food will come to your table. Definitely avoid the tour groups if you are coming here on your own

I don't usually eat oysters so I only ordered half a dozen to try with my partner who dislikes oysters more than me. She can usually only have 2x at most.However, these were so fresh and tasty! We finished our half dozen fresh oysters and got another half a dozen as they were so good!!

Highly anticipated visit to this place. Heard so many great things about the quality of the oysters.Arrived around 11:30am and was greeted by a massive line that extended out to the gravel pathway. Recommend going early as by the time we left the front gates were closed off and no longer accepted new customers.I’m not sure if all year round the ferry ride to the island is long, but we waited roughly an hour before boarding the ferry. So get in line early is highly recommended.The venue doesn’t have a wide range of dish options. Ended up ordering the natural, 2x dozens, and a mixed dozen which includes kilpatrick and deep fried. They also had massive oysters which were $15 for 2 and was explained that they are rare and not available all year round.Had the natural oysters to start off with. Applied a small splash of lemon and went straight into it. Due to the freshness of it, the fishiness of seafood was at its bare minimum. The texture of when biting into it was off the charts. Its creaminess and the overall flavours that bursts into your mouth is next level oysters.The kilpatricks were a bit too salty for my taste buds and would rank it at the bottom. To my surprise the deep fried oysters were actually really nice. The overall batter they used was amazing. The crunch into it was perfect!The venue has limited seating and many had sat down to reserve it with their friends waiting in line to order. However, the turnaround time is not that long so by the time you reach the counter to order, there should be a spot available. They do offer a drive thru window which is quicker but the food is served in take away containers.Will definately crave these Bruny Island Oysters again and can’t wait to return back for more. Definitely and highly recommend it to oyster lovers. Was also concerned about the amount of oysters consumed but was very comfortable on the stomach and no after effects occurred, the food seemed to be prepared with high quality hygiene levels.

We stopped in for lunch on a Friday and had soup and calamari. Both were tasty. We were lucky with the weather being fine, but unfortunately the restaurant was uncomfortably warm. We did a tasting afterwards. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. On the expensive side for both take home wine ($45-$60 to buy a bottle to take home) and food, but still was a nice experience and an enjoyable lunch.

Great wines and great food. Jane was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed, including an itinerary to get the best out of our time on the island. Stop in for lunch and a wine tasting, you won’t be disappointed.

We dropped in for lunch and wine tasting. The food was amazing and presented so beautifully. It was an absolute treat; a delight for the eyes and for the taste buds and perfectly balanced. I had the pork belly and my husband had the slow cooked lamb. Then to top it all off and send you to new dessert heights was the rocky road dessert!! It was sensational!! It’s a must have and rocky road is not even my favorite. It was lovely to sit in the relaxed vineyard setting. We had fun doing the wine tasting because the lovely french staff were so friendly.

Perfect place for lunch stop after visiting Lighthouse at south end of the island. Food was delicious with Tasmanian generous portions and great service. Small area for tasting so there was a wait time. We didn't end up doing tasting after lunch because still a few stops (chocolate factory, cheese company, get shucked, house of whisky) to do before closing time

The Southernmost vineyard in Australia needed to be on our road trip itinerary in Tasmania. We had our dog with us and there was no outside seating, so my wife and I could not enjoy the wine tasking together. The tasting was OK, the wine as well, although a bit overpriced because of the location. Unfortunately, I discovered that the staff packed the wrong red when we arrived back in Sydney.

We have never been here before, but it looked good online and on arrival the facility and restaurant looked great with friendly and helpful staff. For lunch we enjoyed oysters four ways, grilled chicken and the mushroom terrine. Our friend enjoyed the Cape Grim Beef burger. The cabernet merlot I had was excellent. The tasting room looked great and it seemed reasonably priced at $10 a head for four wines or complimentary if you buy a certain amount of wine or beer. The staff were very flexible and we really enjoyed this.

Great wine and Apple cider tasting experience. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Small area for tasting so if more than a couple of groups you may need to have a quick wait. 4 tastings of wine or ciders for $5, this is very reasonable I think. We stayed for another drink post tastings in the back restaurant area. We didn’t eat however food looked delicious.

As others have said, perfect place to stop for lunch before or after other activities. Cosy, welcoming atmosphere and such a lovely place. The staff are so warm, friendly and professional. Couldn't have asked for a better waitress. The bottle of Sauvignon Blanc we had was absolutely top notch. And the food was a-ma-zing. Delicious, rich flavours. Melt in your mouth braised lamb. Juicy, perfectly cooked chicken, to name but a few. This food would compete with the most trendy city fare with one hand tied behind its back. We had a wonderful time, and if we're ever in the area again, we'll be sure to stop by again.

Again Bruny Island keep nicely surprising you; this beautiful place denominated Australia’s most southern vineyard has a delightful fruity vibrant Pinot Noir totally worth trying.We had the pleassure if having their deliciously slow-cooked pork rillete, perfectly cooked in its own fat, and a few herbs and seasoned delicately. They are, quite simply, delicious.The rillettes came with a generous side of toasted baguette along with freshly roasted nuts and cherry jelly relish; an absolute pleasure to your palate.Friendly beautiful service with a warm smile made this visit unforgettable.

We had a lovely meal here and the staff were amazing, so attentive! The cider was the best and should definitely be tried, very reasonably priced too. A must visit if you’re staying on Bruny for the evening

We arrived towards the end of the day for a tasting. The wines are OK and the cidars are different. The staff were rushed and obviously ready to go home so they weren't overly attentive and didn't give a description of the wines we were tasting. It is $5 to taste 4 things and this is refundable if you buy something, which we didn't. Wouldn't bother to go back but a good experience to do once.

We stopped here on our way to check into our accommodation. So glad we did! The food was incredible - the best meals we’ve had since arriving in Tasmania. Beautiful wines and ciders. Most importantly the staff were amazing, so friendly and happy to have a chat! Thanks for a great experience!

Coming across Bruny Island for the first time and this venue was a pleasant surprise. We only managed to get there 5 minutes to kitchen closing around 3.30 pm and we walked in with 2 other parties. Jayne was lovely enough to ask and give us a very gentle warning about the 5 minutes. We happily sat down since they'd have us and we were initially just looking for a gift wine.Have to say that the pork belly confit was superbly cooked, quite soft and quite tasty. Scallops rounded off the dish nicely. Had the vanilla cheesecake to share as well and while the compote could do without the cinnamon, it was overall still wonderful. The best part about the venue? Jayne. Her service was absolutely wonderful and despite overhearing she was swarmed today, she was very caring, attentive and added a personal touch to each conversation, reminding us to make our next destination before the gate closed. It makes you feel like you're truly being looked after. 11/10 service. I hope the business continues to flourish because of her. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Friendly staff, even when they were under ‘the pump’. Loving the rose, but wine is relative and my taste buds said yummm… just had to have three oyster mignonette.. enjoyed the lamb and wallaby burger.. so can sauv was a must. Suffice to say my belly was more than happy…

First timer and happy customer. Did a wine tasting (you can pick a cider too) and amazing lunch. The braised lamb was soft and melting when you eat. The chowder was so good, and the pork belly was crispy. Also had a take away of 3 bottles of cider. Love them! Enjoy guys!

Great location and food paired with friendly service. I would highly recommend stopping here for lunch. I'm not a big wine drinker but there's something for everyone with the cider tasting, they knock off the $10 tasting fee if you buy a 4 pack.

Freshly made pancakes and scones were a treat with coffee and a hot chocolate. Be prepared for a tech free zone as there is limited phone service on site. Great to get away and enjoy the beautiful raspberries, local craft and fare though

Sadly this place gets my first one star review. The chai latte I ordered tasted like hot milk. After some deliberation of not wanting to appear rude I decided to go ask for some more powder or some such and the owner stated they had made it correctly and we stood awkwardly until I returned to my table and left my hot milk untouched. While we were sat down a large dirty white bird came inside and pecked all around the floor.

Quirky statues on the fence posts. Very tidy & clean. Yummy glutin free melting moments. Had to take a star off as they don't have decafe. I also asked for a take away cup for tea & they gave me a mug. Did see a white wallaby

Amazing raspberry farm ,short staffed today,but did a fantastic job of serving and didn't let a customer go by without interaction. These family businesses are such hard work and huge compliments to all concerned. Just loved the visit from the white Peaco*ck. Be back soon for some more of your delicious scores and home-made jam .

Beautiful setting for a coffee and some scones with raspberry jam. Little ones had a raspberry ice cream sandwich each and loved them. Good place for a short stop for a snack.

Lovely farm with nice home made jams and sauces. Had the scones and a coffee which were good. The lady serving us came off rather abrasive and unpleasant unfortunately. Seems other reviewers have had a similar experience with this.

Scones were too expensive at $9 for one scone. Asked for butter (as I can’t have cream )and the reply was very rude. She had butter there as I seen her weighing it out while we were there. No communication with the clients. Not very accommodating to their clients. Won’t get my service again.

Not much there other than a shop and a small garden. Has jam and sauces etc that looks good and worth purchasing but needs more to showcase!

Stopped in here to try some raspberries, so fresh and tasty! Bought youngberry jam and a zesty blackberry jam - so tasty, as well as a chutney. The white chocolate raspberry and chilli ice cream sandwich is worth trying. The mocha also pretty good. Wish I tried the vinegarette as it smelled delicious when they were making it.

Customer service needs some work here. the lady serving seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but working there. Jams are a little on the sour side and need some serious work. Very overpriced for the quality. Really nice farm and the muffins and scones were nice...Like most places there are no public toilets...

Easily the WORST coffee I’ve had in Tasmania. Neither my wife nor I could finish ours. Think of a bad pod machine and go down from there. The “scones” were singular (at $9.50) just cut in half with a jam so sickly sweet it was almost inedible and served on a takeaway plate. No tastings, no toilets, no quality.I feel for business owners because it must be difficult to attract a real barista. They probably depend on backpacking kids who don’t know much about coffee. It is a little sad, because Bruny Island has worked hard to try to build up a reputation for amazing food. This sort of experience might be expected in a shopping centre food court, but not in a beautiful place such as Bruny. Still, if they can’t meet a minimum standard, perhaps they should just stick to fresh berries?

Great range of whiskey. Some local drops and Tasmanian whiskey which you (apparently) cannot taste elsewhere.You're paying tourist and location prices, so keep that in mind. I enjoyed the whiskey I tasted and my wife enjoyed the gin. They had some toys for the kids too and were very welcoming.

Did 3 different flights of whisky tasting with another mate. Was delighted to see their range covering almost all spirits and distilleries from Tasmania. What impressed me the most though was the staff and the general vibe considering it was minutes before closing time. Seeing them raise a toast amongst themselves to call it a day was rather refreshing to witness. Please make time for this spot on your trip to Bruny Island.

If you like whisky or gin (even a little), you must try this place! Just near the ferry terminal it is definitely worth visiting on your trip to Bruny Island. The House of Whisky holds the largest collection of Tasmanian single malt whisky, all for the tasting. The knowledgeable server, Cat was down to earth and super friendly. She provided us her favourite selections and gave fantastic history about the various distillers. This is a fantastic place to explore whisky without having to buy the bottle or travel from distillery to distillery. Thank you for being open - what a great asset to Bruny Island! We will be back.

I believe it was Jack behind the bar looking after us and both of us said how he is incredible! He was the barman with the funny hat (as he called it)Welcomed us in so warmly and let us browse for a minute before getting into it. He was just so genuine, funny and knowledgeable about all the drinks. He definitely 100% made the experience for sure 👌👌The whisky and gin was also bloody good

A lovely place to spend and afternoon sampling some Tasmanian whiskeys and gins. We tried both a whiskey and gin paddle, as well as some extras that sounded good. The price mark up of some Tasmanian whiskeys was a little high, but it's a great place to sample a range of spirits and relax.

Regret going here - weird Kylie Minogue and other electronic dance music in background (doesn’t exactly match the atmosphere when slowly enjoying whisky), server wasn’t interested in explaining the whisky tasting paddle we had, although admittedly we (group of 4) arrived 30min prior to closing time so that may have been on their mind. Lots of selections to purchase but don’t set aside time for this if you’re tight with time, plenty of other things to see and do, such ad shucked oysters or Bruny island cheese shop (with tasty beers)

This was by far the highlight of my trip to Tasmania! The different flights of Whiskey was genuinely on par with some of the greatest Whiskey's I've tried! The atmosphere was incredible the designs of the bottle themselves were unique. Kat was extremely knowledgeable and her amazing positive personality made the whole experience even more remarkable. I would 100% recommend this amazing experience and its only a shirt stop from the ferry! Dont miss out!

Amazing selection and view…the staff member was a bit “fake nice” and second guessed my knowledge quite a lot. Actually quite annoying. Other people know stuff too, mate. Of course there is such a thing as a whisky sommelier.

Jack the bartender was a really nice welcoming guy, I like single malts whiskies and tried the flight of 4 high end tasting. Jack tried to match the single malts to what I normally drink however they weren't to my liking. Now I know Tasmanian whisky isn't for me.

Good if you are into Whiskey &/or Gin, probably an expensive stop if not. No ice or garnishes with the Gins, which is unusual from our experience. To the young guy behind the counter, in all sincerity: go find what you are passionate about, because it’s obvious this ain’t it.

This place has a very vast range of Tasmanian whiskies including some very rare ones. They do range in price and can get quite expensive if you taste some of the upper shelf whiskies but it's a must stop if you're into whisky at all.

This was our first stop off the ferry and we loved it. The staff member who helped us was so knowledgeable and went out of her way to be helpful and accommodating and really took our visit from good to great; she was wonderful.I tried a few different gins and they were all delicious. Our friends tried a flight of whisky and really loved everything they tried too. Definitely recommend stopping in on your way around the island.

I highly recommend this place! The food is incredibly delicious with big portions that are worth every penny. Not only was the food tasty, but it was also served quickly. I was thoroughly impressed with my dining experience and can't wait to go back for more. If you're looking for a satisfying meal, this is the spot for you!

Dropped in on a cold, wet "summer" day without a booking and was seated straight away. We had pork schnitzels and oyster mushroom gnocchi and couldn't have asked for better meals. Absolutely delicious! Lovely staff as week.

We came on a Sunday for lunch, tip is too book before you arrive! We booked a table and lucky we did for the duration of the time we were there 3 different tour buses pulled up for lunch. They were very busy and the staff seemed very overwhelmed but did handle it the best they could. We had a chicken parmi for lunch and it was delicious.

lovely restaurant and friendly staff. Came here with a group and they sorted us out pretty quickly for meals - I had the seafood chowder which was excellent and everyone else enjoyed their meals. the fish and chips looked particularly good but I wish I had known in advance that scallop pie was on the specials as I would have gone for that! 😊

Given the previous great reviews I was excited to take the family here on a day trip to Bruny. Had booked a table and knew it would be a little busy.Arrived to see great food coming out and things busy but moving. However our food took over 50m to come out. I asked at the bar about how it was going and they checked and said 5 more minutes. I also confirmed my allergy (dairy) requirements and they confirmed it would be fine. When the meal finally arrive. It said it had cheese in it… but only a small amount - really!?! Also had to ask twice for cutlery.So had to replace my meal - they did fast track it but we were now at the hour mark and no offer to refund the difference as the replacement was cheaper.I’m hoping that we were just unlucky and our experience isn’t the norm.

We only had lunch here. Food was good. We had platter for two people. Quite a substantial portion. The chowder full of salmon too and it comes with 2pcs of bread. Ample parking area. Nice view overlooking the sea. There's so many tour group there but our guide arranged the order in advance so we did not have to wait long for the food.

This place is awesome. We were staying at the Lodge and ate here every night of our trip. The staff were lovely, the beers on tap are great, they really care about fresh local produce and the food was really fantastic. Especially the chowder, and the fish platter for two were highlights. I couldn’t believe we would find such a great lively pub on Bruny with good food! In early Jan, it was busy and food took a while to come out - but with the amazing view and sunset it really didn’t matter. Couldn’t speak more highly of this place and the lovely staff.

Went for dinner. Vegetarian and vegan options nearly nonexistant, and it's a bit sad to be offered one option that's a cold beetroot bowl when everything else (all meat) on the menu is hot and maybe filling. I had chips and cheesy garlic bread for dinner, which were fine but not a meal.

Fantastic fish and chips in a wonderful location. Was so excited to eat it forgot to get a photo but it was a huge serve. Lucky we were sharing there was plenty to eat.

The service was excellent! The staff were amazing and very accomodating considering they were so busy. I ordered a grilled fish meal and it was excellent. Cooked well and seasoned perfectly that I didn’t feel the need to add anything. The veges were cooked perfectly as well…normally I find some places over cook them but not here. My husband and son ordered steak. They enjoyed it overall but just wished the steaks had more of a sear and more seasoning. Overall the food was good, the service was excellent and the view was breathtaking.

Would recommend booking ahead of arriving.Good portions are quite large unlike anywhere on the mainland. Taste wise, it's pretty good too. Called in for lunch on a Tuesday as we tiki toured around the island.It was packed when we got there but we found a seat at the bar and was able to order drinks and food.The beer was cold and the food was hot. We had seafood chowder and ribs. Both hearty servings - no dinner was required that night!They had the fire going and despite being really busy the staff were warm and friendly.They turned the tables over pretty fast and didn't seem to miss a beat as waves of people poured in by the car loads.It's a proper country pub with big hearty pub grub that fills every hidden crevasse of your gut. It was well presented and tasted great. Not cheap but not disappointing for the price.Well worth stopping for lunch if you're there for the day. Might pay to book a table if you're on a tight time frame.

Just stopped here for lunch on a visit to Bruny Island. The food was excellent and so delicious. My husband had a chicken curry and I just had potato wedges which were so good. The staff were ok, really busy so you could understand that. A really top spot to eat.

The seafood platter at this restaurant might be the best in Tasmania! The environment is excellent, the staff are very friendly. The seafood is very fresh, delicious, and the fish meat is firm and juicy, and it's great value for money!! Much better than many seafood restaurants in Hobart. Despite the crowds, the service speed is excellent! Hopefully, they can continue to maintain this standard!

Had a very late lunch, we shared the mixed seafood for two and it was great. Also had a very nice sex on the beach co*cktail. We got there just after 3 as we had done the 2.5 hour walk at adventure bay around the fluted cape walk, so very hungry and we still didn’t finish it.

Got TA one night - seafood chowder and the calamari and it was really delicious! Tender calamari and tasty chowder.The second night we went to have dinner there, we didn't book and we found a table easily.We had the wallaby gnocchi and beef curry which was on special board that night.Both were really great!Food came out quickly and staff was excellent.If you get the before dark, you get the best views at sunset.

This hotel is in a nice location and the views are nice. However the food is pretty average. We shared a garlic bread which tasted like nothing, hardly any garlic butter on it. My partner had the steak that was low quality and full of fat and not cooked well. I had the fish and chips, the chips were nice but the fish was not great, the battered on the fish was nice but the fish tasted old not fresh at all, pretty sure it had say in a fridge for a few days before cooking. The customer service here is horrible and slow, and then they have the nerve to ask for a tip after charging high prices for everything.

Located right on the shore with just a small road from the beach, with large windows. So the views are great.Both the lamb curry and the seafood chowder were pretty good.We also sampled the local beers and ales.Very good.

Food was delicious! We enjoyed the specials meal they had on offer, good portion size and spectacular views of the ocean.

This place is red hot, with genuinely the pizza I've ever had (and I've eaten a few!). The mushroom pizza is absolutely sensational. We ordered one mushroom and one salami picante (which was also excellent), and we had to order another mushroom one takeaway as it was so stellar. The service here was also wonderful, the staff were very chatty, friendly and funny. The vibe is very chilled and relaxed with a beautiful view of the beach. There are also some great wine options. The best food we had on Bruny, which is saying something as all the food is really great on the whole island. Do yourself a favour and come here!

Pizza night.... we arrived at 6.30pm...our pizza was eventually served at 7.50pm... noone spoke to us, no apology until I enquired...."sometimes it's like that" was the answer. Not good enough folks. The pizza was nice but the pizza dough was the best part, it was top class.... unfortunately though Wild Cafe won't get out recommendation. It's lack of service spoilt the evening

Brilliant Arts space and cafe in such an idyllic spot on Bruny. Unfortunately we didn’t find out about it soon enough to get there for the pizza’s (they look and sound 👌) but we got there for a really great and much needed brunch the next day. It seems very community focused and has a wonderful vibe, absolutely worth a visit if on Bruny.

Had lunch at Bruny Island Wild today with friends and we all agreed it's the best woodfired pizza we have ever had in Tasmania. The base was light and the ingredients were fresh and locally sourced. The service was great and the views over the Channel were awesome. It was very cosy in the restaurant with a lit fire and we didn't want to leave. The walk on the beach below was very invigorating. Dennes Point is a lovely little place and we will definitely be back.

Great vibe, beautiful place to relax and enjoy the view with a glass of wine. Was visiting the art exhibition for the Bruny Island Bird Festival and was pleasantly surprised that this beautiful cafe was next door.

Bruny Island Wild was a beautiful spot to enjoy dinner. We had the best pizzas - 100+ hr dough - unbeatable, with lots of fresh ingredients. We also returned the next day to enjoy coffee and the views of Nebraska Beach. Remember to book ahead! Can’t wait to come back.

Our family being a group of 10 visited for my birthday 🎂. For private family reasons the day and the visit to Dennes Point held quite some emotions for me but I am so glad we made the decisions that we did in visiting Bruny Island Wild and the nearby beach ⛱️ areas. The staff were fabulous and totally accommodating and professional.......the pizzas are without doubt the best I've had.....DELICIOUS 👌. The atmosphere and location is divine. The views are just superb and offer all the peace and tranquillity one might need. Very well done to all involved at Bruny Island Wild. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed it and we are all looking forward to when we can return. Good luck to your business for the coming year.

Pizza was delicious. Was no real signage to know this was the right place (obviously not a big place so not hard to get it wrong) but they could do with better signage.There is a cute little beach if you take the bush track in from of the deck area.Didn't really like the music being played. Would have loved the fire to be going but by tassie standards it wasn't too cold.Please be aware the majority of the road to get here is dirt/unsealed. Some great views on the drive!

This was a great little spot. If we had our time over, we would have just stayed put on the deck of this cafe all day instead of driving around to the other (less inspiring) eateries on the island. Relaxed service and nice views. The coffee needs some work but, hey, it’s Bruny Island not inner city Melbourne 😀

Beautiful place. The chocolate is alright. They let us sample a few range. It comes in small packages or in tins. Ample parking place.

Cute nostalgic chocolate shop but quite pricey. The Turkish Delight was $7 for 6 little cubes, but it was tasty. The most special part is the beautiful tins that the different chocolates come in. They do whisky too.

Definitely a tourist trap. Check the price before you pay. The store charged far more than the price on the shelf!!The staffs were not friendly, the chocolates itself is nothing special. This place is not worth to visit. I hope this review will help you.

What can I say. Death by chocolate. Gorgeous chocolate in all its glory. A definite must when visiting Bruny. You might also want to partake in a wisky tasting to cleanse the pallet. Highly recommend stopping in.

Basic chocolate store selling local chocolate. Average chocolate quality at a higher cost. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Arrived at 3:45, store worker put up ‘closed’ sign shortly after. Not very helpful in suggesting chocolates, think she just wanted to go home. We left at 3:50 and had to wait for the main gate to be unlocked. Closing time listed at 4:00pm. Might need to update their store times

I was here over Easter and I just wanted to ask the woman working, are you ok? The amount of dirty looks and eye rolls this woman gave really baffled me. I literally just picked out chocolates and paid for them, it was really uncalled for behaviour. I thought maybe you were just having a bad day, but from the reviews I read it's clearly just the usual behaviour. To top it off, the overpriced chocolate tasted awful and super artificial. We loved every stop at Bruny Island, but will be telling all friends and family to avoid this place like the plague. You deserve the grumpiest woman in Tassie award.

Small, not much variety. The chocolate was not the best quality but okay. The nougat was the worst thing I have ever eaten. It tasted like old lady soap. Was there lavender in it? Unfortunately, it made my stomach turn. The staff were nice though

A lovely small chocolate at the edge of a beautiful estate with views of the neck and the ocean. The smallest penguins live at the neck and beside chocolate the shop has plenty of doll penguins for sale. A lovely stop if you are doing an island tour XO

My family came here excitedly earlier this morning and left satisfied with our haul of chocolate, but tonight when we opened them up, we ate one of the chocolate melts and noticed they tasted a lot like the nestle bakers choice melts you can get at woolies for a lot cheaper. I paid $4 for a tiny bag of chocolate. I’m not sure this hand crafted artisan chocolate like the shop claimed it to be.I was very disappointed with this shop.Hope this review helped.

Entered and was glared at like I was walking in with muddy boots on white carpet, the vibe didn’t improve from there either. No tastings made it hard to pick what might be worth buying from their overpriced range of very generic flavours.With so many good spots to stop on this beautiful island I’d recommend driving right past this one and giving the grumpy staff exactly what they want, to be left alone!

Lovely spot and surroundings. Chocolates were okay but not exceptional value as you would expect from an artisanal place - fudge was the better ones or if the stuff we tried... staff friendly. They also had so many other things like penguin dolls, whiskey etc!

It's fine, feels kinda like a tourist trap. Compared to the other amazing artisanal makers on the island (Bruny Baker's sourdough that's still warm, the cheese company that has wheels curing in the window...), this is just pretty normal chocolate at tourist prices.We bought a small bag of licorice bullets for $7 just because we kinda felt like we had to buy something.💸 They prefer cash and have a sign stating so.

Says on the shop wall the fudge is made with fresh ingredients including butter. Read the ingredients list on the box - it’s made with cheap vegetable shortening. The chocolates didn’t even have an ingredients list on the package but looked like compound chocolate. Other reviews where they purchased chocolate said that’s what they tasted like. Avoid.

I love chocolate but this store is very underwhelming. It only has pre packed chocolates, nothing to buy at the front. It's quite small and the chocolates were very ordinary.Shop is cute but I expected at least some hot chocolate, artisan chocolate flavours and even some other goodies to buy as it's listed under food and drink and its the only choc shop on the island so I would have liked it to offer more.

I took my daughter to the chocolate shop on Anzac Day and I was highly disappointed.We love chocolate, and I have eaten some of the best, so we bought a bag of licorice bullets $7.50, a truffle $4, a bag of spearmint leaves $7.50, a peppermint bar $5. The bags were very small, containing about 12 pieces each.The chocolate tasted like compound, the spearmint leaves had hardly any flavour and neither did the peppermint bar.There were no tastings, or we definitely wouldn't have purchased, so perhaps that's why they don't offer them. This is expensive, cheap tasting chocolate, with strangely, no ingredients or date stamp on the product.Staff not overly friendly at all, and with all the bad reviews I am surprised the owners haven't upped their game.My advice? Give it a wide berth.

This is a cute little shop. They have lots of products for everyone to choose from. We heard about the honey ice cream and we all had to try some. It was amazing and definitely worth the stop.Their dogs were in the shop sadly didn’t seem interested in making friends with us

Great spot to explore variety of honey produce and eat fresh honey ice cream. It is a bit pricy or should i say just its tourists prices but honey taste amazing

A wide variety of honey as well as honey baked goods, snacks, ice cream, skincare, toys and merchandise. Tasting and trying is available for the honey and skincare. We bought a few honeys - the prickly box was my pick as it's less sweet and a bit more mellow - very lovely. Also, they have a couple of cute pups.Just be careful to store them upright in your luggage as there was some leaking from our jars due to them lying sideways in our suitcase. Luckily we had kept them in their thick paper bags and the honey didn't go through that. We hadn't opened any of the jars yet so were surprised that they would leak.

It was actually fun to check their shop, and see the bees box as well. A bit pricey, but expected anyways. Their eczema cream was so good for my sister who has severe eczema. Manuka honey was great too

Yep... Definitely go and taste the honey 🍯 You can even see the bees actually within hive working away. Raw and filtered honey to taste test. We purchased three types for us and family back home. Bruny Island Honey in Tasmania is a must visit when going to the island.

It’s the most Southern end of Australia and I didn’t expect bees and honey. But yes, they sure are part of the attraction to come and visit Bruny Island. OMG and so many different flavours and tastes of honey to sample. Our favourites are the bush and leatherwood honeys, but there are ten more honeys to take your fancy. Just a lovely, non pretensious high quality product to eat, savour, enjoy and lift you higher! ❤️ XO

A lovely little centre with lots of bee products for purchase. You could taste some honey and their honey ice cream was on offer (tasted like vanilla ice cream with a hint of honey). Their ginger honey was incredible so we grabbed that. Probably wouldn’t spend longer than 20-30mins there.

Lots of honey products here! You can taste their products before deciding which one to buy. Some hand creams and face creams too. You can see some actual bees here too! The honey ice cream costs $6 but it’s soooo creamy and yummy! You can get manuka honey here too. As well as some ginger and honey tub 🍯

A very commercialised place catered mostly for tourist with spending money, and you won't find any bargains there. The honey varieties were good though and no harm to buy some. We didn't feel any warm welcome perhaps we didn't come with a tourist guide.

Great honey products at a great price! They have a wide variety of products from honey (you can do a honey tasting) to skin care and adorable souvenirs. They also love their bees which was heart warming.

What an amazing little bakery experience. Amazing warm sourdough and flatbread paired with Bruny Island Cheese for lunch on a beach was perfect. Definitely stop here on your way around the island.

Seriously make sure you stop here to pick up some sourdough bread and Anzac slice. I loved that you could also transfer the money if you did not have cash on you. We did visit 3 times in 1 day to be able to get the Anzac slice once it had been refilled it there was so much I wish I had gotten more. We also grabbed the picnic bread and that was great as well.

After waiting a year to get to Bruny and reading about the bread fridge, it was great to be there. Lots of people waiting so we enjoyed talking about our travels until the bread arrived. We had a sour dough bread, a tomato sour dough flat bread, and anzac slices

suuuuuuch beautiful loaves. melts in your mouth. what a cute little experience! we waited for a while for the next batch to come out. there was a queue of probably 10 people waiting and boy was it worth it. there’s a phone number on the inside you can text to see when the next batch is coming or let them know you’re waiting.

AMAZING bread and ANZAC biscuits - can get a loaf for $7.50 and biscuits for $2.50 so an even $10 for one of each. Bring cash. Best chances if you're here in the morning but we stopped at 5pm on a Saturday and there were plenty of loaves so worth stopping by any time of day. Pairs well with cheese from Bruny Island Cheese Company. This is a MUST DO on Bruny Island. SO GOOD.

This was such a unique and amazing sight. There was freshly baked bread in the fridge. You just place cash when you take your desired item. The prices are all written. Trust is real. Such a cool thing to have on this little island. The loaf is quite massive so plan your meals well.

I did not believe this fridge existed however having eaten the sweet necter that is the fresh daily baked bread I can confirm it's fantastic. I was lucky enough to meet and talk with the baker himself and he was a brilliant and vibrant human, someone who is clearly passionate about his baking and Bruny Island, we were lucky enough to get some local knowledge and valuable insights of the island.Must stop shop on Bruny Island!!

Delicious, loads of warm crusty goods. Great instructions including payid! Brilliant! Alas no anzacs ( I went back twice!) But the sultana loaf was superb and absolutely stuffed with plump little grapecorpse.Lots of people taking pics getting their bread, cos yeah, warm bread on a cold afternoon from a fridge in the middle of nowhere is very fetch. But now I feel a little poorly from soooo much tasty and must lie down.

Fantastic bread, refilled every few hours with the next refill time displayed. Fruit bread and sourdough is amazing, very nice man selling the bread. Definitely visit on the way to the lighthouse and wait for it if its not too long. Worth the wait. $8 sourdough, $10 fruit bread and $2-3 for biscuits/cookies and cakes.

Very good sales method, self-service unmanned bread cabinet, did attract a lot of people’s attention, of course, including me, try a sour bread, the bread is so salty, only eat a little and then throw it away, it is really salty, I don’t know if the normal taste is so.

Imagine our delight when we arrived at the fridge just before 9am as the fresh products were being loaded in. The delight only increased when we brought the bread into the car and the delicious smell permeated our nostrils. The sourdough was some of the best we have eaten with a chewy crust and perfect with some fresh cheese and honey. Whatever you do, don’t pass up the Anzac biscuits which were an unexpected treat and provided us with perfect sustenance on the Bruny Island cruise later that morning.

A fantastic idea, very nostalgic. It is a huge draw card to get a photo by the fridges. Main issue is its very popular on the weekend as there were people waiting for the drop off so sells out quickly. Was easier on the weekday while we here although still busy and we arrived not long after drop off. Bonus was bread was still warm and very tasty sourdough bread.

I had the avocado on sourdough toast with rocket, fetta ( which I removed) and tomatoe, it was good!They don’t have vegan options so that was pretty much what made sense for me to have as lunch (as the other possible options are starters)My friends had the linguini with salmon and prawn and the butter chicken curry, they were happy with it although the tomato sauce overpowered the other flavours in the curry.Apple and raspberry sparkling juices are really nice but $6 each.There’s seating space inside and outside. Toilets are clean.

Had lunch here while on Bruny Island for the day. Poorly signed and understated place. Food good but seems expensive for the serving size. Service and value could be improved.

Be careful as there are some small bones inside the fillet.Cappuccino coffee bean is robust...I would return to try other dishes...

We had the smoked salmon bruschetta, garlic shrimp & salmon linguini and Tassie wallaby rigatoni to-go after calling. The girl who took our order was super friendly and the food was extraordinary! Would definitely love to dine-in next time we are back in Bruny.

One of the best Butter Chicken I had in Australia and so far, the best in Tasmania to this date. Kudos to the Chef! Great service by the FH lady too! Yummy Momos, definitely worth it.

Came here on our visit to Bruny Island, initially thinking it was Penguin & Peradolt as it was highly rated by Trip Advisor. As we were famished decided to eat here anyway, ordered a big breakfast with a chai latte. The food came out quite promptly but did not really look appealing with some random salad on the side. The look of the food matched what it tasted like, very mediocre. Staff was very nice and service was good, but with food... There's more to be desired.

Stopped by for lunch after exploring Bruny Island. We were very impressed with the delicious food, cozy atmosphere and friendly service! We had the chicken momos, beef vindaloo curry, wallaby Ragu rigatoni and the garlic butter prawn seafood linguine. Everything was so flavourful. Coffees were great as well. This place is a must try!

Excellent food (and a nice change from pubfood). We had the butter chicken, veggie linguine and sticky date pudding. Portion sizes are just right and it was delicious. Definitely eat here if you are on Bruny.

Pretty much the only place to eat in adventure bay and closes at 7pm. We booked for 6 and I reckon there will still people turning up close to 7 that were not being turned away. There is no wine on the premises so very much byo. There is nowhere in adventure bay to buy wine so make sure you bring your own or like lucky for us that where we were staying they had given us a complimentary bottle.We shared two of the curries, the butter chicken and the beef vindaloo. Both were superb and my husbands mum is Sri Lankan so we eat curries a lot.A winner!

Hard to find a cafe on bruny with good food but this is definitely one! Had a beautiful eggs beny with salmon which was amazing, good pot of tea and coffee also looks good. A really cute cafe in a great spot with a view of the sea if you are outside. They seemed understaffed so it was a bit slow but they were definitely quite busy and I'm sure it's hard to find staff on the island so definitely understandable! Highly recommend for some breakfast/lunch if your in the south part of Bruny!

So, a bit drab on the outside and in BUT OMG the food is amazing!!! Do not be put off by the look of the place, the food is authentic and traditional and tastes divine 😋. We called in 2 mornings and got great coffee and friendly service with a smile. If you there for dinner take a bottle of wine. Highly recommend 👌

Went on a public holiday and it was good. They were busy but quick and friendly. Toilet was good. It was a lightly rainy day but there were plenty of places to sit undercover . Coffee was good.

Why is the best butter chicken I've ever had is on a small island off of Tasmania?? Makes it hard to visit but I'd definitely come back given the opportunity 🤣We had the crispy skinned salmon and salad, and butter chicken. The salmon was indeed crispy and perfectly cooked, and the butterchicken tasted very authentic. Even the basmati rice had such great flavour!!!Highly recommend this little restaurant but please be patient as it is family run with 1 chef.

Stopped here for lunch. Quite a few spicy dishes (like curries) on the menu, so had second thoughts. But we gave it a go and ordered fish & prawn goan, and veg linguine. Wow! The flavours were amazing! 🤩Absolutely delicious! So happy we stopped. Gave them a tip aswell which I only do if the food and/or service is acceptional. Don't expect big servings but well worth the money!

Stopped by at this gem of a place after a long hike at Cape Queen Elizabeth track. My husband said the coffee was amazing (and he's usually hard to impress!). We both loved the food we ordered, cumin lamb curry and Nepalese momos...it left us wanting more! The kids devoured their creamy chicken linguine too! Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!
