As it was Father’s Day, my football-mad sons came round my house on Sunday night to watch England kick off their Euro 2024 campaign.

And when Jude Bellingham strutted co*ckily away afterscoring England’s crucial winning goal, my youngest boy Bertie, 23, turned to me and exclaimed: ‘Dad, he’s three years younger than me!’

We both laughed loudly at the sheer absurdity of this statement.

It’s impossible to comprehend just how youngBellinghamis given his awesome size, power, astounding talent, and swaggering self-confidence.

It's been a busy four days of Football so far, with some big wins and surprise results.

Tournament favourites England, Germany and Spain began their campaigns with a win, while Scotland got off to a disastrous start.

Good morning!

Just a reminder - England got off to a winning start in Gelsenkirchen but the Three Lions were far from their best against Serbia, especially in a dire second half.

Gareth Southgate's side had started well and when Jude Bellingham powered home a 13th-minute header, all looked rose for England.

The rest of the first half was one way traffic but Serbia were excellent after the break and put England under constant pressure.

Harry Kane hit the bar with a late header but England struggled to create chances and although Bellingham was sensational, Kane had a poor night, as did Phil Foden.

England face Denmark on Thursday and then Slovenia a week Tuesday.

He writes his own script. The timing of his runs. It was a super bit of play in the build-up of his play. I think all of our forward players looked really good.

"I am confident we will score goals. Playing against a back give it is not easy to create chances and we did. I liked the fact we had to suffer without the ball because that is an area we have worked on a lot this week. We were obviously much better than last week at doing that."
