Mon June 17, 2024: Carly is suspicious; Drew makes an announcement; Nina gets a thrilling invitation; Alexis confronts Finn; Cody gets food for thought.
Tuesday’s GH recap: Finn Turns Liz Away, Gio Wows Trina, and Drew Confirms His Run for Congress
Willow is led by Michael into the Metro Court Pool area.
Once he removes the blindfold, everyone cheers and yells, “Happy Birthday!”
Joss bumps into Gio who was forced to go to the party.
His aunts worried he’d be lonely.
Nearby, Nina interrupts Drew, BLQ and Chase’s conversation to discuss Crimson business.
She pulls him aside and tells him to do his thing. He tells her he needs no coaching.
He goes to Willow and Michael, explaining that Nina didn’t know they were having the surprise party.
He asks if she can stay. Willow goes to Nina to extend an invitation and Nina wishes her a Happy birthday.
“I’m glad you’re here,” she says to her mother.
At the bar, Cody gives condolences to Chase.
Sasha finds Nina and tells her she’s happy Willow let her stick around.
Nina’s thrilled but trying to downplay it and not to push.
Nearby, Carly’s annoyed that Nina’s there.
She learns Willow invited her and Michael says he’s letting it happen.
He learned from his mistake on trying to control his woman’s life.
Carly’s shocked Drew advocated for Nina and she runs to him to ask why he did that.
He admits Nina’s not his favorite person so why, Carly asks would he do anything for her?
Drew tries to explain that she was right in telling him to stop obsessing about getting revenge.
He hasn’t and never will forgive her but he needs her.
Carly screws up her face. “Why?” What’s he doing for Nina? Drew shares how Nina’s coaching Willow on her PSA inspired him.
He’s come to adore Willow and never would manipulate her.
Curtis stops Nina nearby and they discuss the rollout of the Aurora Wellness program.
She is happy to help Drew with web design and marketing tie-ins. Curtis asks if she likes working with Drew.
Nina can’t stand it but they’re helping each other. Curtis is surprised.
She says Drew’s helping her with Willow and she can handle Drew as long as he can help her be a part of her daughter’s life.
She promises she has no agenda with WIllow.
Curtis thinks it’ll be worthwhile. She has to hang in there.
He relates to how well things turned out with Trina.
Elsewhere, Willow and Chase talk about his dad’s death and that it wasn’t a bad way to go, celebrating his marriage.
They embrace and bring up their history.
They believe they’re where they’re meant to be.
At the bar, BLQ thanks Carly for letting Gio work at the pool.
Joss laughs as BLQ says they need prettiness at the pool.
Gio groans and his cousin starts telling them about his violin playing and how amazing he is, that he’s been chosen as first violin at PCU.
Gio’s clearly embarrassed but Carly hugs Joss and says when you love someone, it’s hard not to brag.
Once Gio’s gone, BLQ says his dad died before he was born. His mom died when he was ten and she was a violinist with Philharmonic.
Later, Sasha and Willow talk about how things with the Qs are going well. Tracy likes when she stands up for her.
Cody interrupts to ask if he can get drinks. Hee goes off to get Sasha wine while Sasha talks about how the job is excellent, also because she gets to see Cody daily.
At a table, Drew tells Curtis and Michael he’s going to announce running for Congress.
They’re supportive and he appreciates that. Michael says the call from Judge Perez makes sense now.
He learned he filed a petition to change his name. Drew says the Quartermaine name has higher recognition.
Curtis says it indicates privilege, too. He’ll be painted as the rich guy who paid to get where he is.
Drew knows that and thinks it’ll mean to the voters that he’s less susceptible to special interest groups. He can focus on the needs of the people.

At General Hospital, Liz has forgotten about Willow’s birthday party.
She tells Portia who is on her way there.
Portia has heard from Finn and he’ll be back at work tomorrow.
Concerned, Liz asks to speak with her in private.
Once in Portia’s office, she relays the news that Finn’s still drinking.
She’s afraid he could be a danger to his patients.
She explains she found him in his place with a woman and a bottle of tequila.
The woman has no bearing on this but the anger, refusal to accept responsibility and the over drinking proves there is a problem.
It could affect his patents. Portia agrees. Liz is also concerned about Violet.
She relays news that he fell asleep when he was supposed to take Violet to the pool.
She hopes Portia can convince him to go to rehab. The program is for 12 weeks. Portia will consider that as an option.
Portia’s there for her friend and sorry she’s going through this. She did the right thing for the hospital and their patients. Elizabeth is teary when she exits.
At home, Finn picks up after Violet and downs a vodka drink.
When a knock comes to the door he puts the booze away and finds Alexis on his doorstop.
She wonders what happened to their two meeting a day plan.
He’s been busy. She wonders if Violet’s there and he says she’s asleep.
She wants to check on his daughter. “Why, worried I’m lying?”
Alexis is worried she’s listening.
She goes to the kid’s room and before she returns, Finn grabs the bottle and starts guzzling.
Alexis returns and can see he’s “defiant drinking.”
At least she doesn’t have to get him to admit it’s true.
He offers her one and though she’d love it, she refuses. He tells her about his grief over his father.
“Who wouldn’t have a drink?” Alexis says an alcoholic might try not to.
Finn’s a drug addict. A recovering one.
He hasn’t taking pills or anything else and calls her an alcoholic.
He justifies his drinking by telling her he’s not an alcoholic.
He quit it out of caution. “You’re sure making up for it now,” she says.
He can handle it but can’t handle the snarky judgment.
She thinks his family and friends want to share his loss but he says it’s his grief to deal with how he wants.
He thinks she’s given up on him. She knows he hates when people get preachy but she knows only he can make the turn and see the cost of his drinking and stop it. He knows.
When he needs help, he’ll ask. She reminds him he’s the sole parent of a little girl. Finn thinks that’s a low blow.
She thinks he’s a wonderful father when he’s sober. When he’s drunk, he’s ‘this’, she says, pointing at him.
He says he’ll always put her first. She asks him to prove it by going to rehab. He doesn’t think he needs it.
She lies that Violet’s behind him and he turns around fast, freaking out. She says she lied to show him how he’d feel if she were there.
Finn asks her to leave and she asks him to go to rehab. “Guess neither of us is getting what we want.” She puts on the pressure.
He needs 90 days to dry out. He refuses to abandon Violet.
Alexis snarks that he already is doing it. She’s trapped in this with a drunk.
Finn’s offended and tells her to get out. She cries and tells him to call her when he hits rock bottom, knowing it’ll be soon. She goes.
Portia finally arrives at the party glum. She tells Curtis there was “a thing” at work and he lets her know Drew’s running. She hopes he knows what he’s getting himself into.
She’s happy for him but not liking that he’s leaving Curtis in the lurch.
She hopes he won’t be too busy for her. He vows he won’t. He’s excited to be working for himself in a sense, again.
Nearby, Willow hears from Michael that Drew is definitely running. She squees with delight.
By the tables, Cody tells Sasha about how it was talking to Chase about his father. It got him thinking about Mac with whom he admires. His father is still around and he worries he’s wasting time not telling him.
Later, everyone sings to Willow and she blows out candles on a birthday cake.
Everyone cheers and she asks Drew to tell everyone what’s happening.
He shares his news and they clap. He gives a speech that he told Curtis and then Willow says for her birthday present, everyone can vote for him.
